MMMMM! Some interesting stats on there:
Top speed
360 Modena 191 mph 330 kph (191mph is actually 307 kph)
360 Spider 186 mph 330kph (186mph is actually 299 kph)
Challenge Stradale 190 mph 306 kph (190 is actually 305.7 kph)

So according to them, the Modena has a faster top-end than the CS!:huh: :embarasse :huh:

Didn't the CS have revised gearbox ratio's for faster shifting on a track (not to mention the updated 150ms shift software upgrade!) ?

... Perhaps Ferrari engineered the CS's 6th gear for better performance and not a vmax top speed.

CS has increased downforce so will have slightly lower top speed.

Just to update, gear ratio's are identical across 360cs and 360 as are the size of the alloys 7.5" wide at the front, 10.0" at the back (but not the tyres), cs runs with +10mm for each tyre.

At vmax weight differences do not matter and it is the coefficient of drag and BHP thats important. The 360CS was lower at the front than the Modena, despite having marginally more drag from the larger tyres (and extra downforce) the lowering and the drag items virtually cancelled each other out for purposes of vmax!

In the end it is the extra +25 bhp that is the main difference in top end speed between the 360M and the 360CS!

Official top speeds (from owners manuals);
183.93MPH (296km) vmax for the 360 Modena
186.41MPH (300km) vmax for the 360 Challenge Stradale

In summary the 360CS has a 2.48 MPH higher top speed than the Modena purely from the extra power.

If the 360cs engine improvements where done to a Modena (which has less aerodynamic downforce and less mechanical tyre grip its likely it would vmax at 190mph).

Its possible that for the figures quoted the 360 Modena had an aftermarket system (tubi, capristo, etc.) fitted. This would make sense as it would have the effect of raising power figures and increasing vmax.
