It is indeed. The orange paintwork is for the off season testing only.It refers back to when Mclaren's used to race in this color.

Daz, do you work for McLaren?

i was about to ask the exact same thing, i was under the impression that you couldnt get in to the factory unless you were invited. I hear the floors in there are so clean you can eat your dinner of them!

Do you live in woking daz? and if so how did you gain entry!!!!????

Woza.

Warren. I went round the factory when Senna and (Andretti Jr I think) were driving, and yes, you could eat you dinner off the floor. Even the collection of cars in the foyer were worth the visit alone. A fantastic place.

(they even use nitrogen in the truck tyres). extra point for who can say why?

Using Nitrogen gives a more consistent pressure in the tyre and it's not as affected by heat build up or other factors as compressed air is.

I have nitrogen in 3 of my tyres. Lost only 1 psi in 5 months and 3,000 miles.

Only problem is, I can't find anyone local who uses nitrogen.

I went in and turned them down about 11 years ago. The atmosphere sucked! Tea and coffee only served two times a day from a drinks trolly! What was all that about?!?!?

Sorry - not my kind of office.........

Oh yeah! And I remember trying to break the ice with the HR manager when she collected me from reception. As we walked up the stairs, there was an ex-Prost Mclaren on it's nose, rotating slowly as a display. Casually, I quipped "Bet that took some parking to get that there, eh?!?!?".

Her reply....................

"What?"

I'll get my hat and coat.......................

I've been around the factory(old and new) quite a few times. The best tour was a 1 to 1 when I was going through the interview process. The new building is out of this world.Words can really not describe it.You have to see it for yourself.

Don't laugh but it was for the position of cleaning manager.I would have been in charge of cleaning the whole premises with access to all area's.At least it would have been a foot through the door.

Funny enough, they wouldn't tell me why they were interviewing me until after the interview! They were looking into setting up an Engine Management System production facility for O.E.M. sale. and wanted somebody to head up the project. Would have been quite interesting, but the environment just wasn't for me.

(p.s. are the fellas in the Plastic Pig, the Purple Helmets display team..? If so, these guys are hilarious... run around in big coats, sun glasses, on C50's) :D
