The XK certainly seems to be getting the nod by the press. Much more of a sports car than the previous version. Is it really a cut price DB9? I'm not convinced by the front lights yet but perhaps in the metal it won't be so bad.

Blimey what a rip off of the Aston

When it was first shown, I really liked it. Now i'm not too sure. Personally, I think the Merc SL is better looking.

Yes, I think is completely based on the Aston. But of course much cheaper....!!!

My other half loves Jags so likes this one. I am biased! And was brought up on Jags as a child. So double biased!!

Ferraris still best.

Nope, fails on the front end (very USA). Article in CAR mentions that whilst it deilvers on all performance counts, struggles with the wow factor. To me, will not have the impact the original XK8 did - thats a shame as the car is a better motor, but unfortunately, the competition has moved the goal posts

I had a 2000 XK8 convertible and thought it was a great car so long as I was happy to waft along in the comfort of leather armchairs with slabs of wood in front of me, an auto box and a very soft ride (it had the CATS suspension). It swallowed a return trip to Scotland in its stride. Although the competition may have moved the new one appears to have a more sports bias and it will appeal to those not wanting to comit to over 100k for an Aston. But those front lights :thumbsdow .

Why would anyone start with an Aston and then fit Hyundai Coupe headlights. Makes the front look awful.

Just doesn't look like a Jag to me. Looks likes a sort of Ford Probe type thing. Mind you, I suppose that's apt really.

I saw it as I joined from the M1, thought it was a DB9 Volante until I caught up with it in traffic :undecided

I quite like it. I prefer the Aston any time of day but the front on the Jag is not much different than the previous.

Just visited the Jag dealer in Maidstone. The showroom only had two cars in it but was being set up like a film set fo rthe launch. One car was a new XK8 convertible in BRG. A cover was put over it almost as soon as I got there so couldn't study it.

The other car was a BRG XJ220 with only 2,000 miles on the clock. It looked awesome  .
