Canít say Iím surprised but someone needs to be strung up for this. The amount of money theyíve poured into this and the time wasted arguing and they canít even meet a deadline.

Sadly we in the UK are generally utterly hopeless at managing anything. That's why we have no car industry left any more and why every significant building project always seems to end up late and over-budget. Sad but there it is.

Except it's been built by Australians. Too much XXXX allowed on site me thinks :)

We all knew it would happen, seens to be inevitable on British large scale sports projects like this.
You mention it is being built by Australians, yet the Telstra stadium the huge 82000 seat stadium used in the 2000 Olympic Games in Sydney and for sports events and concerts ever since was built under budget, way ahead of the deadline and started hosting sporting events which they never expected to have the stadium ready for. Just goes to show it can be done and that stadium is incredible both inside and out and did it's job perfectly!

By the same company Multiplex.

They are paying £120k per day damages for being late and expect to lose £75m on the project - not alot of incentive left to finish this one then :D
