View Full Version : Engine Cleaning on my 360
Re-fitted the challenge grill today, but the nearly new quicksilver exhaust looked a bit manky so i set about it with the autosol, its come out lovely, still a bit to go but I ran out of autosol (the elbow grease was also running a bit low) Made the FATAL mistake of having a bit of a wipe here and there and then spent the next three hours detailing the engine bay. Pleased with the results though:thumbsup:

I notice every time you post those pictures you make it sound like you did it yourself, when in fact your dealer did it for you. :tongue3:
Getting a bit like the breakfast pic as well. :tongue3:

Hey Dave,
Any tips on engine cleaning? Especially what to use on the hoses, matt black parts etc?
I normally use a small paintbrush and some diluted degreaser to clean up an oily/dirty engine bay but how do you get the high lustre finish?
Bearing in mind this is an older car..
Of course you don't want to give away ya trade secrets an all but.. :wink3:
Cheers,
Neil

try armourall products for rubber and plastic, I prefer the matt finish rather than the gloss stuff:thumbsup:
Mind you I ran out of it the weekend so the majority of my engine bay was done by spraying armour all tyre foam on a small soap and wiping everything with that :D:D:D
