Ok, so for the time being, I'm no longer a Ferrari owner

But am now the proud owner of this early Rover Vitesse.

P.S. Fcars login for sale, 1 careful owner, would suit 208 enthusiast! :wink3:

Fond memories of these. My dad had one as I passed my test.

Great V8 and a lovely exec car. Don't make em like that any more (with all the good and bad that entails).

PS There are some guys building one with a Rolls Royce Merlin engine in (I **** you not - could be the supercharged version of the engine though. Meteor?).

Think it'll be at Goodwood.

Nice car - not a Ferrari, but the Vitesse has that something... :dude:

What are your plans for the car? I have seen a few track-prepped cars that were pretty bloody quick:thumbsup:

Apparently when designed they took some of the styling from the Daytona

You may laugh, but some Daytona replica's have been based on the SD1,they actually looked quite good

Dan.... love these cars. Remember being taken round Goodwood by Jonathan Palmer in one circa '83. Sideways through the double apex first corner.... what an experience! Bring your car to FOC tonight, I'll re-enact it for you!

Rich, I've got emergency furniture moving to do with the Vitesse tonight - never had that problem with the Ferrari!

Murph, I've been following the progress of the 27 litre Meteor Engined SD1 build by those guys at Practical Performance Car. I wonder if they're gonna sell it after? :wink3:

Not sure. I wonder if they'll survive a spirited drive.

Will it go round corners?

Will they even be able to drive it (650bhp+ at 2500rpm ).

Will they be able to see out of it :)

Madness. But great cars nonetheless.

Enjoy.
