The action of the windows in my 1993 348TS is beginning to slow down (especially towards the top of its movement).

What is the cause of this? Do the motors need stripping/cleaning/greasing, or is this a symptom that requires new motor assemblies to rectify?

If so, does anyone know where the best place is to start looking for them, and waht they're likely to cost?

TIA

I believe one of the issues is solidfying grease. My Mondial's are really slow, but it adds to the character

Chances are it is the grease in the motors. You could try lubricating the whole mechanism, including the glass runners.
Barabus has just done the job on his Testa.

As well as taking the advise offered above I would recommend that when you remove the door panel I would check the connector shown in the picture, very common fault - also effects door warning light, speakers and central locking. :wink3: :wink3:

Thanks for the speedy answers guys.

So, if I'm reasonably handy with my (new and shiney!) tools, this is a DIY job? I had visions of 000's of pounds flashing beofre my eyes!!

I'll speak with Si and see what advice he can give.

Thanks again.

Agree with Mal. If the side on the door seems fine, you have to remove the wheel and the the wheel guard to investigate the other end of the connector. Probably a loosen wire or bad contact. Clean or resolder them. had that on my 348. SOme people just did a straight connection and bypass the connectors. Hope this helps. :)

Thanks for that.
I'll get it on axel stands and whip the wheels off and take a look - that will probably be easier to check first than stripping down all the doors and window assemblies.
