I've just seen a AML in dark green in Kings Hill - a very rare sighting. I wonder how many of them were made and currently exist.

If you're referring to the one they made in the 80's I saw a burgundy one last week in Cockfosters. As you say, an unusual sighting.

Havent a clue how many were made though

See here: http://www.astonmartinlagonda.net/

It says 645 were made 'Of this about 30% went to the Middle East, with about 25% each to the UK and USA.'

Yes, that is the one although my guess would have been late 70s.

Chalenging looks granted. My grandparents ran one after a string of V8 Saloons, they are quite stunning and impressive in the flesh. And still quick for such a barge.... 300+bhp IIRC.

I love these, considered one a few times but every time reliabilty and parts costs put me off. You'll get a minter for about 15K, definately a lot of car for little money.

I worked for an asian guy called murjani who sold womens clothing in the early 80's.He bought a metallic green one with a glass sunroof and i was always given the task of filling it up with petrol.Very unusual car at the time and got a lot of attension, however the electrics were always playing up which meant taking it back to the factory in Newport Pagnell. After 9 months the owner got fed up and wanted out.I remember it took a long time to sell and went for about 25 k.(New price was over 50 k at the time).

You and I are lovers of the wedge shape Steve.... Now the rose tinted glasses are off..... yes, the electrics were awful... and the sunroof (which were non-opening) leaked like a sieve. Additionally, the car automaticly locked after 4 seconds from closing the door. ... many an owner fell foul of this if they didn't trouser the keys ....

I remember being driven by my uncle in it, when he asked me to guess how fast we were going....... I knew we were tooling along at a reasonable rate, so said "85-90mph".... then to be told 135mph... Absolute serenity. If I had the space/money I'd have an early one.
