oh i, black is the only colour for this car. A bit boy racy but i am sure the v8 sound will give it some cred

Why would you want something weighing nigh on 1.7 tonnes as a track toy?

Happened to catch 5th Gear yesterday when Tiff and Tom Boy were testing the bike. Amusing article (most rare for 5th Gear).

Yes as there are two types of track car IMO, the toy and the race car. I am lucky enough to drive both. The Monaro would simply be a fun car to play with and enjoy rear wheel drive excitement. A race car with 250BHP weighing 1000-1200 kg with the correct damper settings and brakes would be much faster.

I got the best of both worlds, 230 brake in a small light, good handling car, but hangs the tail out effortlessly, makes you fell like Seb on a rally stage:thumbsup:

One with 200bhp weighing 490kg is quicker still...

In addition to the handling compromises, weight also means the other components are going to be more stressed on track, likely to wear more quickly etc etc. And being a Vauxhall it will rattle more than a chav's necklaces after a few hundred miles.

A VXR500 to tow one's track toy maybe, but think the fun would very rapidly disappear once it was being blown away on track by people having equal amounts of tail out frippery.

Assuming he learns how to ride his bike properly, he's going to be the ultimate rally star. Easily up there with the likes of Rohrl, Makinen and Toivonen.

Makes Schumacher look like an underachiever :)

agreed. I had the 'Beam weighed (four corners independently to check distribution was right) and i think it was something like 1470lbs. Whats that, about 700kg?? Still fairly light....330ish bhp per ton??

668kg - lighter than an Elise :)

If I had more garage space I'd have a Sunbeam in a blink.
