Just had my seats done by this fella:

www.leatherrepairandrestore.co.uk

Whilst my car is having the belts done up at Steves place.Dave Z was going to do them, but he reckoned that Paul would do a better job. Praise indeed and a gracious gesture from Dave, thanks.

Don`t ask me about prices as apparently Paul is going to contact somebody with a view to becoming a site sponser.

I was very pleased with the results, i`m sure Dave was too.

I will let you know how they last over the next few months.Dave`s words below.

"He really knows his onions , he was telling me in detail how he carrys out the work , he uses a system a lot more thorough than the one stage one that I use.
he cleans the leather first , then applies a bonding agent , followed by the leather dye and then he seals the reconnolised seats with a solvent based sealent. these 3 stages apparently stop it all from peeling over time.

he also does all the colour matching and mixing on site so you get a much better match than the off the shelf stuff that i use."

The finished pic of mine is the drivers seat ,spectacular result, before it was cracked, dirty and had a patch of dye from a previous poor repair. The finished photo does not do the end result justice really, I will take better pics tomorrow.

About 3 - 4 hours for the pair.

Yes Si he does travel, he did both mine and Dave`s at SteveW`s garage.

What a difference

How long is the treatment expected to last until it needs re-doing?

Time will tell Graham, I cannot answer that really, too many factors involved and i`m not really knowledgable to give a guesstimate.Paul did say "A few years if they are looked after properly".

I`m sure Dave will be able to give a better answer.

I'm well impressed with this bloke , I met him at the MPH show , all he does for a living is leather repairs and after what he told me about the system he uses and colour matching on site , I thought we should give him a go.
he guarantees his work for 12 months and will travel.
He wants to expand more into the exoctic car sector and is happy to become a sponsor of the forum.
His standard of work is excellent and I think it would be great to have someone on the forum who specialises in that field alone.

Sorry to ressurect an old(ish) thread but...

Fraccie, how did your seats stand up to the year of use? I am arranging with Paul to have my F355 seats done later this month. You still happy with the outcome?

Hiya Jim.

In fairness, the passenger seat gets very little use so still looks very good.

The drivers seat is still good as well, there is a slight scuff mark on the bolster, but this is more down to the fact that my garage used to be short of room and it was tight getting in and out of the car (this would have occured in on new leather as well I feel). Since I moved the garage around I do not have to slide down the bolster to get in (it does not help wearing jeans all the time either),as such the scuff has got no worse.

Obviously it is not as good as a retrim, but it is a lot cheaper, overall i`m very happy with the seats appearance still and would recommend you use this fella.

I can take some pics tonight if you want Jim?
