Default Ferrari 308 GTB QV Sales refurb thread 2014

A lovely little 308 GTB QV, cracking little car, mechanically she is lovely - minor cam belt service, tensioners, anti roll bar bushes etc but nothing major, her interior will be covered later on on this thread - very straight forward minor works, but first of all is the body, she does not have any corrosion but the previous repaint (probably around 8 - 9 years ago) was good but not the best, the primer had not fully dried before the paint was applied.

The paintwork will be sorted first.

    Remove the indicators first.

While were painting most of the car including the bonnet its best to remove and repaint the grills as well.

    Tim
Can you take a few pics of the rear light removal when you get to it? I've tried to do mine a couple of times and given up (I don't have much patience).
1/ I cannot find the right tool / box spanner
2/ I'm scared of pulling the wiring apart.
    Thanks in advance.

    Hi Graham

Page 11 and 15 of this thread will show what you need to know.

    http://www.clubscuderia.co.uk/forum/...oration+thread

The light units are held in by 3 nuts, the light unit has exceptionally long fixed bolts at 2 o'clock, 6 o'clock and 10 o'clock, If memory serves (which can be a bit hazy at times) the nuts are 7mm. Unless you have a very long socket you will struggle with a little spanner without removing the carpet, once you have managed 1/2 a turn they will finger spin all the way off (as long as they are not corroded).

    Good luck!

Thanks Tim. So do the electrical connectors just pull apart? This bit makes me most nervous.
Looking forward to seeing this this 308 thread develop btw

The back of the light unit has two clips at the top and two clips at the bottom, you just spread these apart at the top and gently pull, once the top is out you then repeat the bottom, its nothing to be afraid of, they where designed to be removed regulary to change the bulbs, I have never broken one or seen a broken one from removing the bulb holder.
