Default What to look out for on low mileage 360

I have made arrangements to look at a few manual 360's, they are 2000-2002 vintage but the mileage on some of them is very low at between 7-10K miles.

Apart from overall condition (which superficially I expect to be excellent) and the service history does age take a toll and any components. For example, the clutch, bodywork ? I have already seen cars needing clutches at 6K miles.

buy on condition, history , ppi - three golden rules

weak points on 360 - 99-01 cars heavy on f1 clutch, make sure ecu has been upgraded- balljoints and wishbones creak and groan- stonechips are unavoidable , dont be put off. apart from that , the car's pretty reliable

If you find a car you really like get a PPI (Pre Pucrhase Inspection). Many guys and girls on here have contacts for reliable engineers. One worth their salts will have the SD machines that will simply plug into the F and tell you what percentage the wear has on the clutch.

But don't be too hung up about buying a F with low miles. It just means they have been sitting around gathering dust. The 360 is an everyday car and a lot of us do exactly that.

    Good luck in your search

My 360 had less than 5k on a 51 plate in August/September last year!! Battery didn't hold charge too well and the immobiliser unit had to be replaced. Apart from that nothing has gone wrong that could be related to not being used
