A terrible drawing but hopefully shows the essentials i.e. 61mm high, 42mm wide

I will try and post a better drawing tomorrow.

I had mine done by Mark @ http://www.bespokecarinteriors.co.uk/ he stripped and recovered both seats, the centre console and door panels for 600 plus vat, which I considered to be a bargain.Needed 2 hides which cost around 230 each. The problem with the leather is that Ferrari use a very soft, smooth grained leather and whereas most leather suppliers could do the crema at the price Terry states getting the exact Tan colour I was after proved more difficult.Sourced the leather from here http://www.ukhide.co.uk/

Mark has also trimmed all of my cars includes my current BM which he's trimmed twice as I had a need for diamond quilting on my alcantara, he also trimmed all of the seats on all of my companies show cars although all non stitched panels were done by me. He really is good !

    To update the story.

John very kindly made up another mould for me based upon the size and shape of the horse on my seats. There are a number of different shapes all slightly different but John made an exact copy of the shape for 355 sports seats.

The sample which John formed from this mould in a piece of leather came out superb. I have just wetted a piece of crema leather and clamped it up. I will leave it overnight to dry and post a picture of the results. I need to chamfer the edges of the mould to smooth out and blend slightly the edges but I will see the results from this sample first.

Many thanks to John in taking the time and effort to make the mould. A very exacting job which requires care and skill to achieve the correct shape.

    And the results.

I soaked the leather before clamping last night. When I initially removed the clamp this evening the leather was still quite stiff but softened up well with some conditioner.

I then clamped it up again tonight without any wetting for just a couple of hours and was quite surprised that the shape came out reasonably well, in fact more natural than the wetted version.

I will clean up the edges of the mould before pressing another but I think the end result will be fine.

Still need to fill the back of the impression with some silicon to help hold the shape when in use.
