Iím aiming to disturb as little as possible so Iíve not changed the mounting flange, stroke pins etc but they will probably all be changed for HE items at the next full clutch change.

Next time I will also buy the stroke pin tool (AV3048). Itís doable without but a complete PITA, particularly the top one. Proper patience test!

New O-ring in the oil way with a smear of gasket silicon. The old one had what looked like Loctite 518 on it.

I spend the late afternoon and evening building it all back up....

Nothing eventful other than I think I found where the damage to one of the fuel lines came from a couple of years back.
The gearbox mounting frame has quite sharp edges and is a tight fit past the fuel lines exactly where the cut was.

I just protected them with a bit of tape when it went back in.

New gearbox mount fitted perfectly with the washers. Definitely easier to change out of the car.
Itís now really solid so itíll be interesting to see what the drive is like.

Finally after putting everything bar the exhaust system and air box on I bled the clutch and ran it through the gears. So far no drama....

The clutch closed position is almost as it was before I powered it down..18.03-18.07.

Itíll be interesting to see where it settles once the engine has spun over and itís been driven.

Apparently Shell donít sell S4 ATF in 1 litre bottles anymore so Iíll try and find some online as the local stations have none.

Heat shields, exhaust system, air box then trim left but a long-haul trip coming up so wonít be finished super quick.

so off to a local hardware shop to buy 20 cheap bolts ....... just to get "a receipt" I picked up some uprated torsion bars for a 911. They were drilled out hollow so looked like gun barrels ....... I had to endure the Spanish inquisition at customs

A bit of progress coming off the back of a week long business trip to the US and staying in the garage to keep me awake!

I test fitted 5 of the titanium wheel bolts...perfect result.

I then spent two hours looking for some exhaust nuts that Iíd mislaid under my nose. Iíll put it down to being tired.

    Cleaned up heat shields refitted...

Then the silencer I refurbed in the other thread following what Geoff had done.
I intend to rebuild and refit the original
as it is in better cosmetic condition than this one, but it will do for now.

This silencer is off an 04 car and the outlets look a lot neater than the ones that came off. They are also rust free, so I donít think theyíve seen much use.

    2000 car left, 2004 right.

The valve actuators just look like wastegate actuators (which they probably are).

    Gasket part number .....

The RH heat shield above the outlets was filthy from many an F1 oil spill post top up. It took ages to get cleaned up....

Exhaust all fitted and now off the stands and waiting for oils and the airbox, then Iíll run it up to temp and check over before boxing it up.

Really looking forward to getting out in the next week or so. I do hope it all works.....
