After many months of searching and chasing,I have found and aquired what is believed to be the factory development car for the Ferrari 355 Spider.

I'm sure everyone will agree that this is an important discovery that helps fill in the missing pieces regarding the evolution of the Ferrari 355 Spider.

Know what you mean mate, but we must remember that this a development car and the actual prodution cars were very much a compromise on this design.
Looking through some of the parts that came with this car,I found the prototype toolkit the factory were developing, the contents give us a real insight to the market that Ferrari were aiming the F355 Spider at.

The toolkit was made up of serveral different and pairs of scissors and combs,a 12 volt hairdryer and a set of Carmen curlers(again adapted to 12 volts)there is a small wallet full of satchets of different brands of shampoo and conditioners.
There is even a selection of those clip on ponytails.

Is that the 360 Spider development mule behind it?

Clive should be really excited about this pic as it's got both his cars in it.

That's what I initially thought! In case of the 355, I reckon Ferrari put the hoops on the prototype in case of rollover... they must even moose test 355s!

We have been working round the clock to uncover the secrets that this car holds, this afternoon we made a significant discovery regarding the paintwork.
It appears that the lovely Nero Black paint that adorns the car in the photo is not the original colour, under the Nero there are several layers of bright PINK.This I am sure you will agree is further evidence which points to the market the 355 was actually designed for.

I can confirm that the hoops were actually mountings for the industrial type hairdryers that can be found in every high street salon.

Thought everyone would like to see a picture of the car with the hood up.
As you can see the hood on this car is manually operated.
