355 windscreen replacement

Hi
Just got back from a two week driving holiday around N. Spain, we had a great time except for a windscreen stone chip which has morphed into a 6 inch crack in the outer laminate.
Has anyone had a 355 screen changed, and would you recommend dealer, indi or a specialist windscreen company. Reviews of Autoglass seem to vary from bad to diabolical, looking at the drawings on Eurospares it looks like the rubber, trim and screen may need to be replaced:(
Any recommendations

sorry to hear that. what part of the uk are you?

Id go for a good indie or main dealer personally.

As an aside eurospares get their oem
parts from Maranello, www.ferrarparts.co.uk; who also have accurate availability and prices. Can generally find most stuff as well. They also offer a discount for FOC members; unlike eurospares.

Ive used them before; very good guys and Im sure they will give you sound advice. (looks like superformance have the screen in stock)

Definitely not an 'on your drive' type outfit as replacing them isn't like a standard modern windscreen. I had mine done at a main dealer (Graypaul Nottingham) and they had to replace the complete inner frame, gasket and glass to make it fit perfectly. Think the cost was over £2,000 (frame is £1,000 on its own) but was covered under my insurance and Lockton paid it with absolutely no issue. I seem to recall the main dealer dealt directly with Lockton, I just dropped off the car and picked it up again with a new windscreen in it.

I'm with AIB and so far the experience hasn't been exactly reassuring, the only way to book a claim is to go though Autoglass, I tried to speak to someone and explain the situation and just got put through to Autoglass. If I arrange my own repair the cover limited to £500.00😲
Currently they are investigating if they can get the actual windscreen from their supplier?? When I mentioned the gasket,, trim and the antenna the girl started taking about driver assist.
I think I may be going to Lockton for next years renewal.

Wise choice I think.

On my car all the original windows are marked up as Ferrari and the new one fitted by the main dealer is marked exactly the same. Pretty sure it should come like this from Maranello Classic Parts (not certain but would think it will) but I'm guessing there's a chance it might not from whoever Autoglass are suplied by.
