550 - door locks

I've had a an occasional issue with the door locks on my 550, and I think I've traced the culprit to water ingress into the passenger door - noticed it after washing the car.

The problem is the door locks stop responding to the fobs - the alarm/immobiliser sets fine. Yesterday after washing the car, the locks would reset to open after locking the car. When I open the passenger door I can hear the locks cycle, and occasionally the window doesn't go back up when shutting the passenger door - hence why I think the problem is on this side.

Any ideas anyone? Assume there are some kind of modules/sensors in the doors? I can work round the problem until service time, so if it's a ballache of a job I'll just leave it until then. The parts diagram shows two micro switches, so I presume it's one of them

Seems that the door doesn't know it is latched closed, so won't lock.

All I can suggest is
1) making sure the door is fully latched. Slam it a few times.
2) cycle the inner door handle
3) cycle the inner door lock lever
4) cycle the key in the door a few times (locked/unlocked) to see if there are any conflicting lock/unlock signals.

Do one at a time to see if there are any changes.
