It was supposed to be a late summer project but the deliveries met with some delay. I ordered from the German importer who seemed to wait until he had a container load together!

Here´s the general idea (the shaded area is for another garage goodie)

They are quite easy to lay and for the ones around the edges that require cutting and fitting I found the best way was to use a wood saw funnily enough..!!

I tried several tools and this is by far the best and the sawn edge can then be given a rub with sandpaper or a trim with a Stanley knife to smooth off the cut area.

Use a nylon or rubber headed mallet to snap the tiles together.

Thanks for the tips

I was thinking of using a jigsaw for the trimming. I´m just practicing trying to get them UNlocked!

Just gently bend them back a little and use a screwdriver under each of the lugs and they will part no problem.

Be careful with a jigsaw that it does not run off the line.... honestly, very easy with a decent wood saw, cuts through with little effort.

A good Stanley knife will also cut the fiddly areas if you have to go round any pipes or the likes.

i used a jigsaw with a fine blade - worked fine, little sanding on the edges nothing major.
enjoy before and after pics please.

Where are you located in Germany ??

I spend a couple of years between Warnemunde, Rostock and Celle a few years back while working as a Project Engineer on a new build oil rig.
It was built in the Kvaerner yard in Warnemunde.

Just about diagonally opposite! Donauwörth, Bavaria.

:mad::mad::mad:

Very cold today, so it was out of the question to open up the garage. Went and bought a gas heater and warmed it up. Went to put the 348 onto the drive and the battery is flat

Decided to try and tile round the car and started emptying shelves etc. It was a real mess and everwhere I wanted to move there was something off the unloaded shelves in the way.

Finally got the first tiles laid and :shocked: I think Stevie Wonder was the brickie. The garage walls are about 85° to one another and I ended up running out of wall.:mad:

Must now reshuffle the tiles so at least the entrance tiles are "square".

(strange, I posted all this this afternoon, but the post has disappeared :huh:)

Just finished for the evening and it´s progressing ok. It´s a bit of a contortionist act but I can´t wait until summer. Trickle charger is on, so I should be able to pop the 348 outside tomorrow to finish off one half.

Pick up the hydraulic ramp at the weekend, so will have to wait for that to be able to tile around it. Maybe it´s because it´s so cold and the tiles are as hard as steel, but I thought they would lay down a bit better (follow the floor surface). As it is, they rattle and clatter a bit when you walk on them.
