Yes I have been following that with great interest.
I wanted a 512 to do exactly the same but was unable to find one that needed this level of restoration. IIRC he paid £80k for it and I would have done the same in a heartbeat.
I know this is his thing making YouTube videos but I think he does a good job of it and makes it very interesting.
I’ve been watching also....[emoji106]
I’d have washed it within 10 minutes of it hitting my drive though.
I did think of you Terry with this one as I know you’d been after a BB. I hope you’re keeping well.
Ladbible have picked it up and ran it as a speeded up video - he is now well over 1.5m views - likely to be his full time career soon.
Great angle in an already crowded space - wish him well - have enjoyed his channel and ones like it at the direct cost of print media.
Don’t bother with that much anymore.
Makes interesting viewing that’s for sure, although I’m not sure where he is trying to get to with the bbi? Even at the price he paid, unless somebody really wants a project or that particular car it will be interesting to see if he makes money from the car itself, given what they are selling for at the moment.:hmmm:
Still, fair play to him for establishing what he has done, and showing that you can work on these cars yourself.
As to magazines; I’ll take the “old man” badge please. I really dislike online magazines and quite like a hard copy I can lounge in the bath with reading.
been following his other projects also plus another guy on "number 27" a 308 influenza https://youtu.be/BxlSY0kiIL8
and the usual harry's garage with Tyrrell's Classic Workshop.
i always enjoy the hands on stuff the most
I may be the odd one out here, but both Ratarossa and Number 27 both make me Wince with some of the ways they go about things, you can sort of see some of the issues coming. Certainly would not want to buy any car that they have worked on that is for sure.
Will be interesting to see how the BB turns out.
I bit slap-dash for me too but as a trained craftsman most work I observe looks like that...
You spend hours and hours as an apprentice getting things ‘spot-on’ and then someone comes into your house and does a job you’d be ashamed of and you feel like killing them...
It’s a curse
Scott's a good friend of mine who lives not far from me. The first car he "did up", a Mondial, occupied the space in a barn where my 308GT4 now lives. He's a great guy and I regularly have chats with him.
You might also want to have a look at Jack Giacomo Pegararo- number 27 on Youtube - who is working on a project 308 - Influenzo - plus various other cars. He is also a mate of Scott's. He is currently trying to get the forward head off the engine - in situ!
