It took me two years to find the 'right' car. Looked at quite a few and had an inspection on one that turned out to be a good investment - compression well down on two cylinders so was left well alone. Eventually, the right car of the right spec turned up in very good condition. Needed some work to bring it 'up to scratch' but all the major bits were there & working well and bodywork was very straight with excellent service history. Still needs some further fettling - final minor paintwork and wheels need refurbishing but that's part of the game with these 'old' cars.

Keep going - I found I got a 'feel' for adverts and conversation with owners/sellers to weed out those that were not worth going to look at. The 'right' one will turn up, just have patience and be prepared to put the effort into searching.
