Well let's be honest if I have to stare at it for ages to work out what time it is, as a timepiece is piss poor, but on the design front it's OK at a push, but for the price
I could buy a couple of ferrari's with change left over.
So overall I'll Pass, had a look at Some of Hublot pieces last week at the FOC event, not my cup of tea I'm afraid, but if you was to offer me one for free I'll take it

As a work of engineering endeavour it is amazing and truly the timepiece equivalent of a fine V12 engine - would I ever have one?

No but I can only imagine having that much dosh that you are glad to find such things to spend it on.

I have five nice mechanical watches in the winder and none of them has been worn since I bought a smartwatch.

If you buy a new 488 with decent spec you still have enough left over for a nice Patek.

OTT in my opinion. It may be an engineering masterpiece but I wouldnt say its stylish. Reminds me of a kids toy with some form of transformer jumping out. If money was no object. I would not have any interest in buying one.
A 348 is like Marmite, you love it or hate it. Boy do I love it!

Ridiculous stupid design and will be worn by show offs who will tell you how much it cost ......... which leaves me thinking who is the most stupid - the show off, or the designer who invented a new type of watch that doesn't actually tell you the time.
