Default Update on Aston Martin, Ferrari, & McLaren

Just posted a new blog on Aston Martin, Ferrari, & McLaren

DBX doesn't seem to be the savior it was touted to be. Valkyrie development is quite the ugly saga. Ferrari seems to be going all in on EV.

A great write up, thanks for sharing. Fascinating about Aston, I am not sold on the DBX. It has a some what regressive design and in dark colours looks similar to a 2011 Porsche Cayenne. It doesn't have much road presence and certainly doesn't look like a bold step forward into the future. And it appears the general public aren't sold on it either.

And I'll be interested to see how well the Aston Vantage Roadster sells with it's controversial new Monkfish grill. The Revenant Automotive grill modification was more pleasing to the eye and I'm sure it would have appealed to more people.

As every, interesting read, thank you.

Agree with Mark on the DBX. I went to a launch of some sort at the factory and thought at the time it was a bit blaaah! Compared to the competition it is the one that would be mistaken for a RAV4. And talk about putting all your eggs in one basket! I'd guess Merc will either buy them out (RR/Bentley model?), or they will die yet again. (I'd go with the latter) Either way I'd guess Stroll wont come off well other than the money he has gotten to sponsor his son in F1 and some "free" cars.

Electric Ferrari...don't get it (regardless of whether they have to or not!) Why pay £200k more than some electric hot hatch both with the same performance. Does carbon fibre/ alcantara and brand snobbery bridge the gap? They all sound like a makita electric drill at the end of the day, so where is the added value? I think the new CEO has a very difficult job on his hands; good luck to him.

shocking that the relationship hasn't led to a steep rise in sales.....maybe they should try Shmee next.

This reminds me when Lotus got desperate in 2011 and hired rapper Swizz Beatz to "cool" the brand up. It didn't work.

Joking aside he has had a sizeable and positive effect on other brands fortunes particularly around certain models.

Some influencers do influence the market - shock horror.

It would be fascinating to know if there is a quantifiable way to measure a direct correlation between the two rather than just marketing departments guessing.
