Basically guys I just need a reliable 911 that I can sell on in 6 or 12 months and that will keep up on most of the runs.

Everyone says the 3.2 Carrera is bullet proof and is the better option as it was the last of it's model era. However it only does 150mph top end and the interiors, unless mint, can look very shabby. Oh, but it does have that ace rear spoiler!

The 964 is the newer car, bigger engine, not sure on top end but certainly quicker, and the interior is much more refined, which is a bonus as Vicki might actually like it! The down side, I've heard that the pre-93 cars can have problems with the fly wheel and oil leak issues. I have also been told that the 4WD system is quite complex and to be honest, I don't need or hanker after it so 2WD would be fine ... unless of course problems with the 4WD are few and far between.

The budget is 15k max and, although I may get a newer car, I think there are enough out there to make it worth hanging on for a RHD.

Any suggestions or advice, always gratefully received.

Someone even said stay away from white, though i think white with red wheel interiors and a red Carrera stripe looks superb!

    Al,
it's a long time since i had a 964 . It was my 1st 911 [C2 Targa] and i LOVED it to bits. TBH, i didn't keep it that long to have any agg as i changed for the then new 993 . However , i did sell the 964 to a m8 who had many happy years out of it. FWIW, i'd avoid the Targa .
