Hi Robin, I have a 2016 FF which developed a tapping noise and ended up as No.6 big end bearing failure. Can we discuss our joint problem please?
Hi Pete

With the number of people we have coming, does your local pub REALLY not want to open?

Sorry. Haven't had time to go through them properly yet. Lots of things to do at the moment and away to the 'Ring Thursday morning...

Hi David
Sorry for the late reply, been offline and busy the last couple of days.
Access to that front sensor should be possible with the water tank/power steering tank cover removed, watch out for falling washers/inserts during removal. There should be some movement in the water tank/power steering tank without removing any hoses to assist with access. Not sure how easy it would be to get a spanner of the correct size on it for removal, I would expect it to be tight. Try removing and cleaning the connection first.
Good luck.
Regards, Terry
Hi Ray,

Hope you are well?

Are you going to the Meridien GP day tomorrow? Duncan's coming down with your old 348.

re. 355 temp sensor

hi Terry

Thanks for your message - Could you tell me how easy it is to get to the front temp sensor, what do I need to remove to get to it? and is there anything that I need to be careful of when doing this? Do you know if the warning light uses the same sensor as the gauge?

I bought an infrared gun last night bought myself infra-red temp gun, aimed it at bulkhead hose. No reading till thermostat opened, then went up to 190 - 195F. Car gauge read 210F. at this time and red warning light was on (this was letting car idle from cold - on the road it often reads 250 or more and red light is intermittent.) Fans cut in at 195 (on the I/R gun which seems about right).

Thanks

David
Thanks Al.

Nice to hear from you and thanks for the welcome.

Like the idea of the link so thats going to happen. SC appears to have many dedicated drivers and car enthuisasts that enjoy the club and the forum is super interesting. Thanks also for the thumbs up on the site. The 308GT4 I currently have is superb and just as it left the factory in 1980. Never seen one so original or as good and it has perfect history and provenance - take care until we meet ... do it safely!
