My fire extinguisher according to the dial is below pressure. Not sure if they can be refilled or just replaced.

Anybody have any idea?

I would be surprised if yours could not be refilled. We have a company who looks after our fire alarms and extinguishers at work. I'm sure you will have similar near you.

Ive got fire extinguishers in my garage and when they required servicing/recharging every specialist that I spoke to said replace them as they're so cheap nowadays:thumbsup: unless they're very special ones.

Took mine out..!!! .if theres a fire in my car ....which has a tank of petrol... then I'm not going anywhere near it.. run awayyyyyy

I understand the idea is to help you get out of the car if the fire is inside the cabin. Regardless it came with the car so I wish it to be. I will take it to a local fire protection company and if they say just replace with new that's what I'll do.

Cheers folks.

Sorry to jump on the thread, but I have 2 brand new floor brackets (still in their box) that I got from Eurospares a couple years back.
They are greyish/black - had them ordered for my Stradale.

PM me if interested

Agree - but on the two occasions I have seen car fire extinguishers being used they were being used on someone else's car!

Same makes me smile about off-piste snowboarding. I always pack a shovel and probe and when asked what they are for reply "digging you out"...Invariably I'm only one with them so not a lot of use for me! :hmmm:

Malc, can you post a pic of the fire extinguisher in your 360 please.

Interested to see where it sits.

I'll do that tonight. I have found a company in Chorley who will refill it and so the pictures will be of the clips on the transmission tunnel only.

Pete, the FE is for extinguishing other car fires, if mine goes up I'm out there. It took me a good few minutes to release the clips

Yep, I think the only viable ones for engine fires are the built in, pull a lever in the cabin type. Best advice if your engine goes up is get a long way away and make sure you’re well insured

I have the factory fitted extinguisher in my lowly "poverty spec" car and its a pointless accessory, as the time it takes to unclip it, is the same time as it would take me to run a hundred metres away. 100 litres of fuel will make a spectacular fire

Mine is factory fit too (if I did not mention it). Most of the print on the extinguisher body is in Italian and as you'd expect there's a Prancing Horse logo on the shell as well. That's why I'd rather have it refilled than replaced, despite the leather condom it fits in

Whilst I remember can you make a note not to put my car out.....
I want it to be a no debate insurance claim and not a breakdown :)
How ‘burnt’ does it need to be to claimable?

If my car is to be fire damaged and I bought it with no category rating do I really want it downgraded to a CAT-C or D? Probably not.
Anyway Mike it is noted :tongue3:, we'll use it to keep us all toasty should that happen.
