Selling your pride and joy!!!!

Just thought I would ask how everyone upgraded their cars, whether you p/x your old Ferrari, sell them privately or get a dealer to sell it for you etc. I am almost ready to move on from my 348 to a 360 and was contemplating how to do this - the best way forward...........

:)

sold my 360 and 328 privately.....would i do it again?? - well the 328 was an easy sale - but the 360 was hard work..

just make sure you price it right..

It boils down to how much you want for your car and how much hassle. Selling privately will yield the most than trading it in. But then you do have the hassle; people not turning up, time wasters... Trade in hassle free but less money

Do most dealers and specialists take p/x or do they like to place your car first before finding you what you want?

A lot will p/x if it's deemed 'good stock', but p/x pricing is far from favourable...I've only ever sold privately, thats not to say it's for all, but it helps when trying to minimise loss / protect my investment. In a lot of cases, i've turned a small profit as I usually buy privately too. The hassle doesn't fuss me and in a weird way, I quite enjoy it.

I had real trouble even getting a dealer to take my 348 in PX I rang quite a few general car dealers (wanted a m3 or a 355) most did not want to know a couple offered me around the 12-15k mark and a couple said that they would take it in px AFTER doing a super ppi on it which included a thorough gearbox examination.
All of the dealers i rang had not seen my car though BUT it was a good one with a recent engine out (done by a specialist) and plenty of paperwork.

Got 19k for it in the end in px for a m3 which i then sold on and went out and bought my 355.

Only way a dealer is going to offer you good money for it is if there is good money in the car your interested.

Sold my red with crema 360 privately after putting it up for sale on PH. And the new owner pops up on here now and again

Very easy sale for me and I was £££ better off than p/exing to a dealer.

Whenever i've sold a car I state in the advert that I welcome an inspection and if there is anything that needs doing i'll knock it off the price. Works well for me as I tend to keep them in A1 condition anyway

It's always worth trying to sell privately, you never know it may sell quick...
