for a change we have agreed to let a Company who provides camping and other facilities at Le Mans become a sponsor

As this is the first post, I welcome Stephen and his organisation to CS and hope they can help any members interested to have a great trip to France for the Main race and the Classic le Man later in the year.

hopefully people can post lots of pics and fond memories from previous years !

I'm sure they will be along later

Looking forward to seeing there threads and posts. Was planning on a trip to LeMans this year. There was talk / thread of a 2016 Club Scuderia group trip .... I'm not sure if that's still happening ?

Andy, pm me quick if you want to join in with my trip, I may still be able to fit you in.

Thank you for the welcome.

We are a small family company we believe giving exceptional customer service, our site is one of the best at Le Mans with private trackside viewing and great security for your pride and joy, we will have the FF Corsa team staying with us this year as they do every year when they are competing in the feature race on Saturday morning. We also are supported by Pirelli. We also have a pamper tent for the ladies so no excursuses and sited caravans for those who consider camping is not for them.

If you have never been to Le Mans it is extremely addictive I have been going continually since 2000 way before we started the company.

The team at Lycian has a huge amount of experience and we are always willing to talk Le Mans and assist even if you are not travelling with us.

We are aware that Ferrari has no camping presence at Le Mans and maybe we can change this.. Join our Village on the Curves Facebook page for the latest up to date information.

Classic LeMans

I have been to every classic, and I am still addicted. Over the years it has changed a lot and is now much more commercialised, but that is the way of the world I guess. At the beginning I tried to get Ferrari OC interested, I ended up on a Club France site.
It's great fun if you like classic cars and seeing every Porsche in the world parked up in very straight lines.
I am a member of AOC and that was money well spent. Go and have fun.

AOC?? Do you mean ACO? I am too. Money very well spent.

Probably.

Now for the important question, what about fuel? I have been checking thing out and it looks like the fuel situation is getting worse, I have looked into flying down, a friend that lives locally has offered me transport but from what I am reading aviation fuel may well be an issue very soon. This is serious, i need my LM fix.

I only just made it back from the Mille Miglia and it has gotten worse.

We could only get €30 of fuel in France at each fuel station and that was after queuing with fighting locals all trying to go about their daily business. - didn't take us long to work out that if the rationing got more severe we would have been screwed and sure enough as we got towards Calais we began to see stranded vehicles.

I would get a refund on any Le Mans booking now because otherwise it is going to be utter carnage down there.

Also vote wisely June 7th

Did you enjoy the MM, going to do a return next year, haven't been for a few years now.
On the fuel issue, did you consider travelling up through Switzerland, Germany etc. to get back?
I am doing some numbers, (my ferry is Southampton - Le Harve) as I do, and if I take my oil burning Alfa I can get there and back on one tank full, I am considering putting a couple of containers (20litres each) in the back to keep me mobile.

Police are stopping and confiscating containers with fuel in. Locals have already tried that and the authorities have clamped down. We went via Belgium Germany Austria but came back Italy Switzerland France unaware that there was an issue until we needed to fill up. The thirstiest / smallest tank car in our crew was a 675LT so we Soon realised €30 per visit would just get us home. It's gotten worse since so if you really must go I would fill to the brim at Dover and hope things don't worse. Watch the news every day because today they said they are now into their nations emergency reserves.
I hate France / French experience anyway so Mille Miglia is the one for me by miles. Le Mans used to be fun but the French just take you for granted treat you like **** and expect to make a mint off you each year.

Not for me.

There is no ferry service between Southampton and France.

Yes indeed, I have been reading about Le Harve being closed. Hope they sort them selves out soon.
I used to work in France and they are a strange bunch over this kind of thing. The general public will tolerate a lot of grief from Union action.

Poor Toyota

I felt really sorry for Andy Davidson, some idiot in the pit crew told the japanese driver to ease of for the last laps and the car didn't like that so it stopped altogether, talk about jinxing your own car:mad:
